Daniel is a haunted soul. Everywhere he goes there are the souls of the would-be dead. Since the time when he was a dragon he could see them, talk to them, and so they would seek the dragon out. After becoming immortal Daniel decided to take up sailing and found that spirits were less likely to cross the water in search of the alminiri.
